Tinnifade — Privacy Policy

Tinnifade ("the app") is built to work entirely on your device. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the app uses, where it stays, and the one optional feature that sends anything off your phone.

Everything stays on your device

• Your frequency profile (the pitch you matched during setup) is stored locally.
• Daily check-ins (loudness and distress ratings) are stored locally and used only for your own trends and weekly insights, calculated on-device.
• Sleep sessions (which sounds played, how long until sleep was detected, and your morning answer about whether it helped) are stored locally and used only to tune the sleep plan for the name you chose. Names you enter are plain labels stored on your device and never sent anywhere.
• Audio is synthesized in real time on your device. Nothing is streamed or downloaded.

Nothing in this list is uploaded, backed up to a server we control, sold, or shared with any third party. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

Health data (optional, read-only)

If you turn on "Stop when I fall asleep", Tinnifade asks for permission to read sleep data from the Health app, so the sound can fade out once a sleep tracker has recorded that you are asleep. On Apple Watch, the companion app reads your heart rate during a sleep session for the same purpose and discards the session afterwards; no workouts are saved.

Tinnifade never writes to the Health app. Health data is used only to decide when to stop the sound, is processed on your devices, and is never used for advertising, sold, or shared. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

Motion data (on-device)

With "Stop when I fall asleep" on, the app reads the iPhone's accelerometer while a sleep sound plays, to notice when you have stopped moving. Readings are summarized on the device and discarded; they are not stored or transmitted.

Online tuning (on by default; switch off in Settings)

Tinnifade has one network feature, Online tuning. It is on by default and can be switched off in Settings at any time. While it is on and your phone is connected, the smart mix adjusts in real time, and each time you open the app your sleep history is re-analyzed so an up-to-date plan is saved on your device for nights without a connection. Both go through Tinnifade's sleep service, which forwards the request to an AI model.

• What is sent: minutes elapsed, recent heart-rate readings and stillness minutes from the current session, the sounds played, and past outcomes for the selected plan (minutes to sleep, helped / didn't help), plus any note you typed into the morning review.
• What is not sent: your name or the names you entered, contact details, device identifiers, location, or anything that identifies you. Requests are not linked to an account because there is none.
• Storage: our service stores nothing; it processes each request and returns an answer. The AI provider (Anthropic) processes the request under its API data policies and does not use API data to train its models.
• Turning it off stops all network activity immediately; everything then runs on your device as before.

No account, no tracking, no ads

There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into. Tinnifade does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, or any third-party SDK. The only other network access is the two links in Settings (this policy and the support page), which open in your browser when you tap them.

Children

Tinnifade collects no personal information and can be used by all ages. Health and motion access always require an explicit permission prompt.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above is updated and the change is described in the app's release notes.
